Introduction

Tsukihime is a doujin visual novel, released in December 2000 by TYPE-MOON. It tells the story of Tohno Shiki, who since a life-threatening accident in his youth is cursed with the ability to see “lines” on everything around him. Lines along which objects can easily be cut.
Having lived with foster parents for seven years, Shiki is recalled to the household of his family. He had lost all contact with his family over this entire period, making it difficult for him to get used to the new situation. As he gradually learns more about his past, the situation becomes more and more unfamiliar and dangerous.

Please note that this game contains some scenes of adult nature and extreme violence. Be sure to keep it away from children as they may choke on the chunky bits of dead people.

hrm the install is saying it needs a CD and i don’t have one this is disappointing

Unfortunately, Tsukihime is not easy to find these days. Jahoo Japan auctions are a good way to get it, you can buy things there through an auctioning agent.

    Note that it is considerably easier to buy F/sn. JList has it in stock, for example: http://www.jlist.com/product/PCG0142

I was planning on buying Tsukihime sometime in the future. I am going to visit Japan next year and (hopefully) study abroad. So here’s my question. Would I be better off trying to find a copy in Japan, or would I be better off just trying to traverse the internet in my search?

Definitely go buy it in Japan. It’s possible (or used to be) to get it through Yahoo Japan auctions etc, but it’ll probably be both easier and cheaper to get in a used games store. It’ll probably still be expensive, but yeah.
